Smart Pipe in WebPano — Pipeline Measurement Without a 3D Model

Measuring pipelines on an industrial site doesn’t have to mean a visit with a tape measure, and preparing insulation doesn’t have to wait until the crew arrives on site. Smart Pipe in WebPano lets you measure a pipeline’s diameter and length directly from scan data: a point cloud, a mesh model, or a panoramic view — with no need to build a full 3D model.

The tool automatically detects the pipeline’s geometry and fits a markup to it. Simply mark a start and end point, and the tool reads off the diameter and length of the section.

The same markup can be used for pipeline insulation prefabrication — simulating the insulation layer as early as the design stage and checking whether it clashes with other elements of the installation. Pipeline markups can also be connected along a shared axis making it easier when creating isometric drawings. The data can be exported as a CSV or DXF file and used in technical documentation or directly in CAD.

As a result, the insulation supplier arrives on site with materials made to measure — no on-site measuring, no downtime, no clashes.
