Drone Survey of Larger Rural Estate
Drone Survey of a Larger Rural Estate – Point Cloud & BIM Model
We were commissioned to provide a comprehensive 2D Topo and BIM model of a large rural estate located in the London neighborhood, UK. The topographic survey was intended for dual purposes: supporting planners in land-use decisions and providing detailed data for design and construction works.
The estate was extensive and complex — comprising several buildings, roads, a lake, and wide open fields.
Point Cloud via Photogrammetry
The point cloud was obtained through photogrammetry — a process in which a full-color RGB point cloud is generated from aerial photographs. To capture the necessary imagery, we used a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone, which allowed us to efficiently cover the entire estate with high precision.
The final registered point cloud was processed and delivered together with a detailed BIM model.
