Oil Field Installations – Iraq
The scope of works called for scanning a complete installation located on an oilfield in Kurdistan, northern Iraq. In addition to the wellhead we also scanned the pre-filtration, storage and transportation systems. The installation also contained a flare which constantly burns the natural gas filtered from the oil.
This proved challenging to scan due to the high temperature’s involved. The final delivered project was a point cloud combining around 400 individual scans and TruView. This project was challenging not only from a survey point of view but also working under such high security in this politically volatile part of the world.
