Drifts in Wieliczka Salt Mine
The project was commissioned by the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The aim of the project was to create a design backdrop for the planned renovation and reconstruction of the mine works. The client plans to adapt the mine as a tourist attraction. The scope extended to around 1500m of tunnels where we recorded over 400 individual scans.
Maintaining accurate control throughout the survey area was critical due to the linear nature of the site. From the registered point cloud over 100 individual cross sections and excavation projections were extracted. The final delivered product consisted of 2D CAD files, PDF’s and hard copy prints.
