Laser scanning of Uniejów
The Polish National Heritage office of Łódź Voivodeship commissioned the laser scanning of the external facades of the Renaissance Castle in Uniejów (located in central Poland). The purpose of the project was to document the current condition of the external facades of the buildings which would be used as a basis for planning restoration/conservation works.
The building was scanned with the highest resolution settings, also capturing RGB data. A registered, coloured and cleaned point cloud was used as a basis to generate orthoimages (Metric Images) of all the external facades. CAD drawings were completed from the same dataset. The CAD was then overlayed with the Orthoimages to demonstrate the full potential of laser scanning. Further to the survey works a 3D visualisation was also produced for the site, allowing the client to use the survey data in a marketing capacity.
